SLCNC acoustic panel cutting machine can perform processing such as cutting, grooving, punching and other processing on polyester fiber sound-absorbing board. 1. Preparation work
a. Material preparation
Prepare PET felt acoustic panels of right thickness according to construction requirements or design requirements. Common thicknesses of polyester fiber acoustic panels are 9mm, 12mm, 15mm, 20mm, and 24mm. There are also some low-density polyester fiber sound-absorbing panels with a thickness of about 50mm. Different acoustic panel thicknesses may use different cutting tools. So you need to know the material thickness in advance. Our acoustic panel cutting machine can be installed with two types of qiege: pneumatic knife and vibration knife.

Electric cutting tool The electric cutting tool uses a motor as power and is used to cut PET felt within 15mm. Cutting thick PET felt is prone to damage the blade or even fail to cut. The electric cutting tool often use 0.63mm thick blades. | pneumatic cutting tool The pneumatic cutting tool use high-pressure air as power and are suitable for sound-absorbing panels above 15mm. Thin sound-absorbing panels can also be cut, but the cutting speed is slower than electric cutting tool. Pneumatic cutting tool cuts thicker materials, have greater cutting resistance, and have longer blades. In order to ensure the service life of the blade, blades with a thickness of 1mm or 1.5mm are selected. |
b. CAD drawing preparation.
Our PET felt cutting machine is a CNC cutting machine, which requires CAD drawings.
If the construction party does not provide CAD drawings, we need to design CAD drawings ourselves. We can use AutoCAD, Corel Draw, Adobe Illustrator, Inkscape and other design software for design.
If the construction party provides CAD drawings. The technician needs to check the dimensioning, process requirements, shape requirements (such as rectangle, arc, special-shaped holes, etc.) and processing accuracy of the cutting drawings. To confirm which processing tools on the machine need to be used.
2. Machine Setting
a. Blade selection.
Mainly look at whether there is an arc less than 5mm in the drawing. There are different types of vibrating blades. For small-sized arcs, you can choose a blade with a smaller width.

When cutting small-sized arcs, the shape specification can be guaranteed without deformation. However, because the blade width is small, the rigidity is smaller than that of ordinary blades. The cutting speed is slower than ordinary blades. The life of the straight blade is shorter than ordinary blade. The price of a straight blade is more expensive than ordinary blade. |
b. Tools installation
According to the construction party or drawing process requirements, confirm what tools are needed for this processing process. Acoustic panels processing work mainly includes cutting, grooving and punching. Therefore, it is necessary to check the processing requirements on the drawings to confirm which tools are needed to install and adjust later.

c. Parameter setting
The cutting speed of the cutting knife is around 200mm/s. The speed will vary with the thickness and density of the material. You can test it with a small piece of material first, and then set the right cutting speed on the basis of not damaging the blade and cutting a clean and smooth edge.
The cutting speed of the V grooving knife is about 500mm/s. The cutting speed of the slotting knife is related to the slotting depth. If the slotting depth is deeper, the speed should be reduced accordingly.
d. CAD drawing setting
Import the CAD drawings into the acoustic panel cutting machine software.
The different tools of the equipment are distinguished by SP numbers. SP4 is the cutting tool, SP3 and SP5 are V grooving tool, and SP6 is a the punching tool.
In the machine software, the CAD drawing lines are also confirmed by the SP number color to confirm which tool is used for processing. Set the right SP number color of the lines in the machine software.
3. Cutting process
a. Loading material
Put the polyester fiber panel on the working table of the PET felt cutting machine and ensure that the panel is within the working range of the machine. And try to ensure that the material is not skewed.
If the PET felt is small in size, you can manually turn on the vacuum pump to confirm whether it can fix the material on the work table. If it can’t be fixed, please cover the surrounding area with some materials to increase the adsorption capacity.
b. Locate cutting position
Our acoustic panel cutting machine is equipped with a red light positioning device to indicate the outermost position of the cutting. The red light should be within the material range, but in order to save materials, the distance from the edge of the material cannot be too large, generally requiring a distance of 5mm-10mm.
c. Start cutting
Click the start button to execute the cutting operation. The polyester fiber cutting machine will automatically select the tool for punching, grooving, and cutting according to the SP number color setting of the graphic.

During the cutting process, unrelated personnel are prohibited from entering the machine working area, and the operator must also stay away from the moving parts of the machine, such as the cutter head, gantry, etc. In addition, observe the cutting process of the machine, and stop the machine in time if an abnormality occurs.
4. Unloading and post-processing
1. Unloading finished pieces
After cutting, move the machine gantry to the back of the machine, collect the cut pieces, and clean the scraps off the table to ensure that the work table is clean, and put the new polyester fiber board on the work table to continue new cutting.

2. Finished product inspection
Check whether the cut pieces have quality problems. If there are problems, change the cutting parameters accordingly to solve the problems. If you can't solve it yourself, please contact us for technical support.
5. End of work
After the machine finishes work.
1. Power off. First turn off the power of the acoustic panel cutting machine. Then cut off the power supply of the machine.
2. Cleaning. Clean the debris and material powder on the surface of the machine and clean the work table.
